Hyderabad Weather News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall across several parts of Telangana, including Hyderabad and neighbouring districts, later this week. According to the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, isolated areas could receive heavy showers between June 18 and June 21 as monsoon activity strengthens over the state.
The weather department has also predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers at many places across Telangana during the period.
Hyderabad Among Districts Under Heavy Rain Alert
The IMD has indicated that heavy rainfall is likely at isolated locations in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts. Similar conditions are expected in Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.
Other districts likely to experience heavy rain include Mahabubnagar and the surrounding areas as the weather system intensifies over the coming days.
Thunderstorms And Gusty Winds Forecast
Apart from rainfall, the IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds across Telangana. Wind speeds of 40-50 kmph are likely at isolated places in all districts of the state, raising the possibility of localised disruptions.
Residents have been advised to remain cautious during periods of thunderstorm activity and to follow official weather updates.
Weather Outlook For June 15 To 17
For the period between June 15 and June 17, the IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kmph at isolated places across several districts.
The districts likely to be affected include Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.
Temperatures Expected To Dip Later This Week
The weather department has said there is unlikely to be any significant change in temperatures across Telangana on June 15 and June 16.
However, from June 17 onwards, temperatures are expected to fall by around 2C to 3C over the following three days as rainfall activity increases across the state.

With heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds forecast for several districts, residents across Telangana, particularly those in Hyderabad and adjoining areas, are advised to keep track of the latest IMD bulletins and local advisories.
Authorities have urged people to exercise caution while travelling during periods of intense rainfall and thunderstorm activity, as changing weather conditions could affect traffic and daily routines in several parts of the state.
