Jamshedpur (Jharkhand), Jun 29 (PTI) Four alleged cybercriminals accused of duping people in several states through online fraud were arrested from Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur, a senior police officer said on Monday.
The arrests were made after the cyber police received a complaint through the Pratibimb app from an Odisha resident, Superintendent of Police (City) Lalit Meena said.
The accused were arrested from a rented house at Jawaharnagar Road No. 4 under Mango police station limits. They hail from Jamtara, Deoghar and Seraikela-Kharswan districts and had allegedly been operating from the house for the past two years, he said.
According to the complaint, the accused had allegedly duped the victim of Rs 99,000 through an online fraud.
During interrogation,
the accused allegedly confessed to cheating people from different states of around Rs 30 lakh, the SP said.
The arrested persons were identified as Rahul Kumar Rabbani, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Sunil Kumar Jha and Rahul Kumar Thakur.
Police seized nine mobile phones, SIM cards and an ATM card from their possession. PTI BNS ACD
