Karwa Chauth 2025 witnessed a glamorous gathering of Bollywood’s leading ladies at Anil and Sunita Kapoor’s residence, where devotion met glitz. Among those who marked the day with love and tradition was actress Shilpa Shetty, who performed her husband Raj Kundra’s aarti and broke her fast after moonrise.
Raj Kundra took to Instagram to share glimpses of the special moment with Shilpa, posting a series of pictures from their celebration. Alongside the photos, he penned a heartfelt note that read, “The moon may rise tonight, but my world already shines brighter because of you,” adding a moon and heart emoji. In the photos, Shilpa was seen performing the ritual as she observed the moon, with Raj standing by her side, smiling affectionately.
Earlier in the evening, Shilpa had shared a glimpse of the festivities on X (formerly Twitter). Praising her gracious host, she wrote, “Karvachauth ki raat. As usual, so impeccably done by #SunitaKapoor (who I absolutely adore).” The actress looked radiant in a red embroidered lehenga paired with heavy jewellery and a sleek bun, embodying the festive spirit.
The celebrations saw a starry turnout with Raveena Tandon, Mira Rajput, and Geeta Basra also in attendance. Raveena stunned in a bright yellow saree, while Mira opted for a classic red drape, staying true to the festival’s colour palette. Geeta Basra caught attention with her custom-made kalash featuring pictures of herself and husband Harbhajan Singh.
Host Sunita Kapoor, known for her attention to detail, once again outdid herself with elegant décor and traditional arrangements. Sonam Kapoor also made an appearance in a festive saree, joining the family rituals and adding a touch of warmth to the evening.
Karwa Chauth, celebrated across North India, is a day when married women fast from sunrise to moonrise, praying for their husbands’ long lives and prosperity. With Bollywood’s brightest stars coming together, the evening at the Kapoor residence beautifully captured the essence of love, faith, and tradition.
