Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their long wait for their maiden IPL title win on June 3, 2025. In the summit clash of IPL 2025 played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Bengaluru-based franchise defeated the Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings by six runs to win their first ever IPL title. And now, more than six months after RCB’s historic title win, legendary Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni has congratulated them on ending the long wait.
During a recent IndiGo event, when a fan asked Dhoni about RCB’s IPL 2025 title win, he said that they (RCB) played very well.
“I am a part of CSK, so I can’t imagine any other team winning the IPL trophy. But it was long awaited. They (RCB) played really well. Big congratulations to them.”

The clip of Dhoni congratulating RCB on their IPL title win is now going viral on the internet.
In IPL 2025, Virat Kohli finished as the highest run getter for the Bengaluru-based franchise and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood topped the list of bowlers with most wickets.
