New Delhi, Jun 24 (PTI) The Department of Rural Development will organise on Thursday a national workshop here on “Leveraging AI in Rural Development” to explore the use of artificial intelligence-based solutions for transforming rural governance and development outcomes.
The day-long workshop at Bharat Mandapam will bring together stakeholders including NITI Aayog, IndiaAI Mission, industry leaders, technology startups, academia and knowledge partners to deliberate on the role of AI in addressing grassroots developmental needs, the Ministry of Rural Development said in a statement.
The workshop aims to identify scalable AI use cases for rural growth, showcase technology-driven interventions and assess the preparedness of data ecosystems and institutional
frameworks for wider adoption of AI tools in rural areas, the ministry said.
The discussions will focus on areas including AI-enabled rural governance, citizen-centric service delivery and social protection, rural infrastructure management, climate resilience, livelihoods, skilling and financial empowerment.
A session on responsible AI will also deliberate on data privacy, ethical frameworks, policy compliance and pathways to scale AI-based interventions across rural India.
The ministry said deliberations from the workshop are expected to contribute towards a policy roadmap for integrating safe and impactful AI tools into the rural development ecosystem. PTI AO KSS KSS
