Netflix’s Raat Akeli Hai returns with its sequel, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, featuring a new mystery case for Inspector Jatil Yadav to solve. The teaser has been released, introducing several new cast members, including Sanjay Kapoor. The film is scheduled to premiere on December 19, and ahead of the release, Sanjay’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor has been cheering him on.
Shanaya Kapoor shared a still of Sanjay Kapoor from the teaser on her Instagram Stories, announcing the release date of her father’s show. The film immerses viewers in a gripping new setting as Inspector Jatil Yadav (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) investigates a complex crime where nothing is straightforward, and every clue leads to unexpected twists. Set in Kanpur, the drama unfolds
when members of the influential Bansal family are found murdered inside their mansion. As Jatil questions those close to the family, he uncovers a world shaped by power, influence, faith, and buried secrets.

The film is directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures. Alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanjay Kapoor, the cast includes Radhika Apte, Chitrangda Singh, Deepti Naval, Rajat Kapoor, Revathy, Ila Arun, and Akhilendra Mishra, each portraying characters intricately connected to the unfolding mystery.

The crime thriller Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders will have its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, ahead of its global release on December 19.
