New Delhi, Sep 29 (PTI) The Delhi Traffic Police issued 924 challans and removed 37 encroachments during enforcement drives against illegal parking and roadside obstructions across the city, officials said on Tuesday.
As part of the drives conducted in coordination with civic agencies, 205 rehri-patri were removed or handed over to the concerned civic bodies, while 24 vehicles were towed away and five impounded, they said.
Action was taken against improper and obstructive parking, unauthorised occupation of footpaths and carriageways, roadside encroachments and other impediments affecting the movement of traffic and pedestrians, officials said.
The Traffic Police said such enforcement and awareness initiatives would continue across Delhi and urged
road users, shopkeepers and vendors to follow traffic rules, park only at designated places and keep footpaths and carriageways free from encroachment. PTI SSJ
