Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan actress Ridhi Dogra is all set to appear on reality show The 50. She has previously turned down offers to participate in Bigg Boss. Explaining her decision, Ridhi said, “I’m not
worried about what happens to my image if I do a reality show. I’m not going to project a version of myself. I’m exactly the person I am, and that’s what people will see.”
She emphasised that The 50 differs from other reality shows that focus on cooking, cleaning, or household tasks. “The point here is to see how you deal with people in an environment where things can go for you or against you,” she explained as reported by Hindustan Times.
A Chance to Show the Real Ridhi
For Ridhi, the show is also an opportunity to challenge long-held perceptions. “I know I’m often seen as strong, opinionated, and very clear about my views, and I wanted to allow space for people to see more of the person behind that,” she said.
Preparation and Challenges
The unpredictable format of the show makes preparation tricky. “No matter how much you prepare, it will never feel enough because you don’t know what’s going to happen once you’re inside. It’s exactly like acting. You can know your lines, know your character, but once you’re on set, you have to stay open and receive whatever the moment demands from you,” Ridhi explained.
She added that the show will challenge her both physically and mentally. “I’m not an athlete, but I enjoy physical movement, I enjoy tasks, and I enjoy mental challenges. My intention is very clear, and that matters more to me than anything else,” she said.
Navigating Social Dynamics
Ridhi spoke about dealing with social dynamics as an introvert. “I enjoy people and love being around them, but I’m not the loudest person in the room. I open up on my own terms. People might read that as arrogance or aloofness, and I’m prepared for that. I’m okay with being misunderstood if that’s the cost of being authentic,” she said.
Maintaining Personal Boundaries
Beyond competition, Ridhi sees the show as a way to reconnect with audiences while preserving personal boundaries. “I’m not interested in turning my private life into content or baring my soul on camera. But I do want people to reconnect with me as I am now,” she said.
On Friendship with Ex-Husband
On the personal front, Ridhi recently spoke about her relationship with ex-husband Raqesh Bapat on a YouTube podcast. Despite their divorce, they remain close friends. “We genuinely preserved our friendship by ending the marriage since we weren’t suited as partners, but we are really, really close friends. We have confidence in one another and can protect each other’s secrets and support each other,” she said.
With The 50, Ridhi Dogra is ready to show a new side of herself. The globally popular format will make its Indian debut on February 1.
