Actor Aahana Kumra has finally broken her silence on the much-discussed confrontation with Dhanashree Verma in the reality show Rise and Fall. The episode, which showed a heated exchange between the two
contestants, quickly went viral after Aahana accused Dhanashree of “using her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal” to gain sympathy and support from viewers. Following her eviction from the show, Aahana has now addressed her remarks and clarified her stance.
Aahana Kumra Clarifies Her Comments On Dhanashree Verma
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Aahana said she stood by her statements, explaining that Dhanashree continues to discuss her personal life on the show. “As I said inside the house, I’ve known Dhanashree for just a week. We haven’t even spoken beyond that,” she shared, adding that contestants entering reality shows are aware that “a lot from their past will come out in the open.”
She elaborated, “It depends on the individual — how they want to present their past in front of people. Woh aapka stand hai. Because aapko pata hai ki aap kya baat karna chahte ho (It’s your decision; you know what you want to talk about).”
The Khuda Haafiz actress further explained that everyone on a reality show knows exactly what they wish to reveal to the audience. “It’s her stand that she wants to talk about her personal life on the show,” Aahana added.
“Talking About Your Personal Life Is Your Choice”
Aahana maintained that she doesn’t object to anyone sharing their personal experiences on camera but believes one must be aware of the consequences. “If someone wants to talk about their personal life on the show, it’s on them — great. Maybe she felt this was a platform to share her story, and that’s her journey on the show,” Aahana said.
However, she also issued a subtle reminder, saying, “Par unko yeh samajhna hoga ki har cheez ke repercussions hote hain (She should understand that everything has repercussions). I understand repercussions.”
The Rise and Fall Clash
The conflict between the two actresses unfolded during an intense episode of Rise and Fall, where Aahana accused Dhanashree of playing the “victim card.” The exchange escalated when Aahana questioned Dhanashree’s intentions for repeatedly bringing up her divorce on the show. The dancer, in tears, defended herself, saying that her achievements and recognition stemmed from her hard work, not her personal life.
The argument quickly became one of the show’s most talked-about moments, dividing fans on social media. While some supported Aahana for “calling out emotional manipulation,” others criticized her for being insensitive toward Dhanashree’s struggles.
As the drama continues to unfold on Rise and Fall, Aahana’s recent comments indicate that she has no regrets about her words — only a reminder that “every action in a reality show comes with its own consequences.”
