A thoughtful gesture by a mother travelling on an international flight has won hearts online. Flying from Seoul, South Korea, to San Francisco, USA, with her own mother and four-month-old baby, she anticipated that her little one might cry during the long journey and disturb fellow passengers. To prepare for the situation, she came up with a heartwarming idea that reportedly touched over 200 travellers on board.
During the 10-hour flight to America, the Korean woman distributed a plastic bag to all the travellers. The bag contained candy, chewing gum, and earplugs to ensure people don’t necessarily have to hear the baby crying.
A Special Note Inside The Plastic Bag
The plastic bag that the woman handed over to all the passengers also contained
a special note, where she wrote and conveyed a message on behalf of her four-month-old child. “Hello, I’m Jan Woo. I’m 4 months old, and today I’m going to America with my mom and grandma for my aunt’s coming-of-age ceremony. I’m a little nervous and scared. This is my first flight ever.”
On behalf of her child, the woman urged people to wear the earphones and apologised for any inconvenience the baby may cause.
“It’s normal for me to cry or cause a disturbance. I’ll try to stay calm, but I can’t promise. Please use this if my voice gets too loud… Have a nice trip. Thank you.”
‘Shows Amazing Respect For The Flight Shared’
As the incident reached the online community, many people appreciated the woman for being proactive and making efforts for fellow passengers. Others, however, felt sorry for her and noted it was sad that she felt uneasy about her baby crying during the flight.
“She didn’t need to do this. We all have been babies and we all cried when we were hungry or got scared. We all should have patience and love toward others,” said an individual.
Someone else said, “That’s incredibly thoughtful but also a bit sad that parents feel pressured to apologise for a baby just being a baby.”
“The mother’s proactive approach shows amazing respect for the shared space,” commented a person.
