A biopic of legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, was officially announced by the makers on December 1. They made the announcement by dropping a poster featuring Siddhant. Days
after this, the makers shared Tamannaah Bhatia’s impressive first look poster that showed her portraying the role of Shantaram’s second wife-actress Jayashree. Her stunning look went viral, and fans gushed over her beauty and grace. Now, Tamannaah has shared some behind-the-scenes glimpses from the shoot of her first look poster, and has opened up about stepping into Jayashree’s shoes in the film.
Tamannaah Bhatia Shares BTS Glimpses
On Thursday night, Tamannaah took to her Instagram to share a series of BTS pictures and videos from the shoot of her first look poster as Jayashree in V Shantaram biopic. One video captures Tamannaah delicately applying a tiny bindi on her forehead. In another clip, she is seen checking out the poster images from the photoshoot. She also shared a black-and-white photo of Jayashree, the character Tamannaah portrays in the film. In her caption, Tamannaah wrote, “Every bit of love that we have received on the poster of Jayashree ji for V. Shantaram, is an ode to her. Ode to her grace, and her legacy. Thank you. Stepping into this world has already been intimate and deeply meaningful, even on the early days. V. Shantaram’s vision reshaped cinema long before its time.”
She further added, “Becoming Jayashree has taught me more than I had imagined, and I look forward to everything this journey will continue to bring.” Check out the post!

Impressed with Tamannaah’s poster, her best friend Rasha Thadani commented, “The most beautiful,” while Siddhant Chaturvedi dropped a red heart emoji.
The film has been written and directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, and produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale and Sarita Ashwin Varde.
V. Shantaram is remembered for directing some of India’s most celebrated films, including Do Aankhen Barah Haath, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, and Navrang. He received India’s highest film honor the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1985.
Shantaram, widely remembered as Annasaheb, was married three times- to Vimla, actress Jayashree, and later to Sandhya. He passed away in Mumbai on October 30, 1990.
