IPL Auction 2026 Live Updates: More than 350 players will go under the hammer today in the IPL 2026 auction, which is scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi. The auction will start at 2:30 PM IST, and a total of 77 players can be signed by the 10 IPL teams. They can secure the services of as many as 31 overseas players, and it will be interesting to see if any of them manages to break Rishabh Pant’s record of being the most expensive player in IPL history. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter was signed for Rs 27 crore by Lucknow Super Giants in the mega auction last year.
Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the auction with a purse of Rs 64.30 crore, and they can sign as many as 13 players. The Shah Rukh Khan-owned side have six overseas
slots available, and they are expected to go to secure the services of Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana.
Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings are also looking for a major overhaul after finishing at the bottom of the points table for the first time in the 2025 edition. They have a purse of Rs 43.40 crore and have a total of nine slots available. Their first priority will be to sign Pathirana back, and in addition to him, they will also look to find a long-term replacement for Ravindra Jadeja.
Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants also have more than Rs 20 crore in their kitty, whereas five-time champions Mumbai Indians only have Rs 2.75 crore.
