French EDM superstar DJ Snake has officially cancelled his much-anticipated return to India after revealing that doctors have advised him to undergo surgery for an ongoing health issue.
The Grammy-nominated
artist, who was scheduled to perform across six Indian cities as part of the Sunburn Arena tour in February, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. In an emotional statement, DJ Snake said he has been “battling a health issue” for some time and can no longer postpone medical intervention.
DJ Snake Cancels India Tour, Surgery Planned in February
Explaining the reason behind the cancellation, the producer wrote, “Hey guys, I’ve been battling a health issue for a while, and it’s finally caught up with me. After talking with my doctors, I need to have surgery in early February. It’s something I can’t push or delay anymore, and I’ll need a month to fully rest and recover after that.”
DJ Snake admitted that stepping away from the stage was not an easy call. “This means cancelling all my shows, including the India tour, and that decision has been incredibly hard. But I need to get back to 100% and this is the only way (sad face and broken heart emojis),” he added.
Thanking fans for their continued support, the artist signed off on a hopeful note: “Thank you for your love & understanding. I’ll be back soon, stronger than before. William.”
Third India Visit Postponed Again
The cancelled tour was set to mark DJ Snake’s third visit to India, where he enjoys a massive fan following. The Sunburn Arena shows were initially announced for September–October last year, with Kolkata as the opening city and Delhi-NCR as the finale. However, the tour was postponed to 2025 due to logistical issues.
The rescheduled dates had the tour kicking off in Kolkata on February 6 and concluding in Delhi NCR on February 15, with stops in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, and Mumbai in between. With the latest development, fans across all six cities will now have to wait longer to see the DJ perform live.
