When Dhurandhar hit theatres on December 5, it made a powerful splash at the box office. What began as a strong debut soon transformed into a phenomenon, as Aditya Dhar’s high-octane action spectacle went on to achieve significant milestones.
The film rewrote records across days, weeks and global charts with rare consistency, establishing itself as one of the most successful in recent times.
Opening That Instantly Sets The Tone
Dhurandhar began its theatrical journey with Rs 28 crore nett in India. The film instantly became Ranveer Singh’s biggest opening day ever, setting the tone for a run that would refuse to slow down. The weekend only amplified the impact, and the box office numbers are proof.
Ranveer Singh’s Biggest Single-Day Collection
On
its first Sunday, the film collected Rs 43 crore nett. This marked the highest single-day collection of Ranveer Singh’s career, surpassing the Rs 32 crore record previously held by Padmaavat. The same day also delivered the second-highest first Sunday of 2025, leaving behind Chhaava.
Biggest Ranveer Singh Grosser in Seven Years
As collections increased, Dhurandhar crossed Rs 240.30 crore domestically. The film left behind Simmba to become Ranveer Singh’s highest-grossing film in nearly seven years. If that was not enough, it also emerged as the second-highest grosser of his entire career.
Career-Defining Film for Aditya Dhar
For director Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar marked a massive jump. His earlier blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike had raked in a total of Rs 17.17 crore as its highest single-day collection. Dhurandhar more than doubled the amount with Rs 43 crore in a single day, becoming the filmmaker’s biggest one-day grosser and his highest-grossing film overall.
Shocking Weekday Performances
On its first Tuesday, the film collected Rs 27 crore nett in India, making it the highest first Tuesday grosser of 2025. With this feat, the spy thriller beat even established performers like Chhaava and Saiyaara. By the end of its first week, collections had already crossed Rs 207.25 crore, proving the film’s strength extended far beyond weekends.
The Second Weekend Rewrote History
Dhurandhar collected Rs 59 crore on its second Sunday. It was the highest second Sunday ever for a Hindi film, surpassing Pushpa 2: The Rule. Across the second weekend, Dhurandhar amassed Rs 140–146 crore nett, dethroning Pushpa 2 to become the biggest second-weekend grosser in Indian cinema. It also broke Day 10 records previously held by Jawan, Stree 2 and Animal.
Fastest to Reach All The Major Milestones
Ranveer Singh’s film became the fastest Hindi film to cross Rs 500 crore nett in India. It managed to achieve the feat by Day 16. No, that’s not all. The film also became the fastest to cross Rs 500 crore, Rs 600 crore, Rs 800 crore and Rs 1,000 crore worldwide. By Day 16, it had already surpassed Gadar 2’s lifetime India nett of Rs 525 crore.
By its 26th day, Dhurandhar entered the Rs 700 crore nett India club, a milestone no other Bollywood film had reached. On Day 30, it crossed Rs 800 crore domestically.
Global Box Office Supremacy
Even internationally, Dhurandhar left a lasting impact. Within 24 days, it crossed Rs 1,100 crore worldwide and eventually touched Rs 1,240 crore. With this, it surpassed KGF: Chapter 2 and surpassed Pathaan to become the highest-grossing Hindi film worldwide. The film also featured among the Top 5 most-watched films at the US box office, as reported by Comscore.
Starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and others, Dhurandhar is still showing no signs of slowing down. Produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios, the film’s sequel is headed for its release on March 19, 2026.
