Chennai, Sep 17 (PTI) Kothari Industrial Corporation Limited, the flagship company of the DC Kothari Group, on Thursday announced its entry into the FMCG sector with the launch of its first beverage brand, CHUSIP.
The portfolio includes “Coco Twist”, a natural tender coconut water sourced from coconut farms in Tamil Nadu and marketed as a refreshing beverage for consumers, the company said.
CHUSIP tender coconut water is 100 per cent natural and contains no added sugar or preservatives, according to a company release.
The new Coco Twist coconut water is currently available in 200 ml packs priced at Rs 50. A one-litre pack will be introduced soon, it said.
The company plans to introduce a wider choice of flavours in the coming days. The beverage
portfolio will range from tender coconut water to fruit drinks, fruit drinks with or without pulp and products containing Nata De Coco, it said.
Jinnah Rafiq Ahamed, Executive Director, Kothari Industrial Corporation Limited, said research findings showed an emerging trend in India of consumers moving towards healthy, natural and authentic choices.
“This launch marks KICL’s foray into the FMCG sector and is the first step towards building a portfolio rooted in nature, health and trust,” he said.
“KICL aims to build a Rs 2,500 crore beverage business by 2035. In the first phase, CHUSIP will focus on strengthening its presence in South India and plans to appoint 100 distributors and trade partners across Tamil Nadu, Keralam and Karnataka,” he added. PTI SNR SSK
