New Delhi, Sep 30 (PTI) With an eye on long-term planning and strengthening infrastructure development in the national capital, the Centre has asked the Delhi government to submit a five-year capital investment plan by its key departments, officials said on Wednesday.
Under the current system, the Delhi government allocates budget to its different departments based on their yearly requirements and proposed schemes and projects, they said.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), in a recent communication, asked departments to furnish five-year capital expenditure investments by its departments, primarily Health, PWD, Transport, Power, Education, Urban Development, Delhi Jal Board, Industries, among others, as part of long-term planning keeping in view
expansion of urban infrastructure according to the goals of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Delhi, officials said.
The departments are in the process of submitting the proposed capital investments under various heads, focusing on long-term infrastructure and creation of permanent assets. The MHA is expected to hold a meeting with Delhi authorities around mid-October to assess the future requirements and necessary planning for it, they said. PTI VIT APL
