In a traditional Hindu wedding, the bride and groom take seven sacred vows, known as saptapadi, as they walk around the holy fire. Each vow is meant to guide them in their married life through trust, respect,

and support. These promises have been followed for generations, and couples usually stick to the same rituals.

But a recent wedding in Delhi added a fun twist that has now become a talking point online. A couple decided to introduce an “eighth vow,” turning a serious moment into a light and memorable one.

The bride and groom were dressed beautifully and surrounded by their families, while the pandit carried out the ceremony. Everything seemed calm and traditional until the groom picked up a microphone.

Groom Adds a Playful Eighth Vow

Holding the mic with a smile, the groom told everyone, “Main usse ek vachan bulwane wala hoon, swikaar hai, bulwa lena baad mein mana na kar paaye,” meaning he wanted her to say “swikaar hai” so she couldn’t back out later.

Guests immediately burst into laughter. Someone from the background even reassured him, “Nahi nahi, record ho gaya sab kuch,” confirming that the moment was already being recorded.

The groom then made his funny demand: “Aaj se kamre mein AC ka temperature main set karunga,” meaning from now on, he would decide the AC temperature in their room.

The crowd laughed even harder. He turned to the bride and asked, “Do you agree?” Blushing, she softly replied, “Swikaar hai,” making the moment even sweeter.

The caption of the reel reads, “Mayank dropped a Vachan and Diya had to agree.” The on-screen text adds, “8th Vachan added. The vachan we all were unprepared for.”
