India Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Squad Announcement Live: India women’s captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to announce the squad for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup at 5 pm today at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai.
The BCCI announced on April 29 that there will be a selection meeting at the venue before Harmanpreet, alongside selection chair Amita Sharma and BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, who will address the media.
India will go to this tournament as the champions of the world in ODIs, but that means little in the shortest format, where their form has been patchy, at best. The recent five-T20I series against South Africa, the team India beat in the final in Navi Mumbai, was meant to be practice for the marquee
competition, but a 4-1 loss left a sour aftertaste full of more questions and doubts than confidence.
Still, the time for any experimentation is over, and it’s all about picking the best group to do business in England. The likes of N Shree Charani, Amanjot Kaur, and Kranti Gaud are pushing for spots. No big surprises expected, but players like Vaishnavi Sharma and Nandani Sharma could be outside picks.
