Rinku Singh was on fire for Kolkata Knight Riders in their IPL 2026 match, which was played against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday (April 26). In the must-win match for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side, Rinku first played an unbeaten knock of 83 runs from 51 balls and then took four catches as well in addition to taking one more in the Super Over. The four catches by Rinku on Sunday in Lucknow helped him enter his name in the record books. The 28-year-old cricketer from Aligarh, who was retained for Rs 14 crore by KKR ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, is the first player in the world to take four or more catches in an IPL match on multiple occasions.
Before taking four catches for KKR against LSG on April 26, Rinku also completed four catches for KKR in their
IPL 2022 match against Gujarat Titans in Navi Mumbai on April 23.
In that fixture, he took catches of Hardik Pandya, Abhinav Manohar, Lockie Ferguson and Rahul Tewatia, and on Sunday, April 26, he completed catches of Aiden Markram, Mukul Choudhary, George Linde and Himmat Singh.
A total of 13 other players have taken at least four catches in an IPL match, but unlike Rinku, they have failed to repeat the feat twice.
