Farmer couple from Latur driven to pull the plow after bull''s death

Jun 9 (PTI) After their bull died from a lightning strike, a farmer couple from Maharashtra’s Latur district was driven to physically pull the plow to cultivate their land.

Lacking funds to buy a new pair, farmer Kashinath Gaikwad and his wife Aushabai are seen ploughing the land in a viral video.

The couple is from Devni tehsil in Latur district.

Taking cognisance of the incident, NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar said the state government should extend financial assistance to the farmer.

He said an unconditional farm loan waiver was needed to alleviate farmer distress. PTI COR VT VT
