Star Bangladesh allrounder Rishad Hossain has said that his favourite wicket over the course of his two-year-long international career is that of ace India batter Virat Kohli, whom he dismissed in the Champions
Trophy earlier this year.
In a Group A clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Rishad trapped the star Indian batter, who managed 22 off 38 deliveries. Despite his effort, Bangladesh fell short, losing by six wickets to a brilliant knock from
Shubman Gill.Kohli, trying a late cut from deep in the crease off a fuller ball, edged it straight to Soumya Sarkar, who didn’t have to move a lot to take the catch. Rishad claimed the wicket of Axar Patel as well, finishing as Bangladesh’s standout bowler with figures of 10-0-38-2.
Despite his efforts, the Tigers could not defend their total of 229.
“I think my favourite wicket in the Champions Trophy was Virat Kohli. It was a completely new experience for me. When I came home and checked my phone, I saw so many comments and messages, it was overwhelming but really heartwarming,” Rishad said while speaking to the Big Bash League.

Rishad is all set to feature in the Big Bash League for the Hobart Hurricanes, marking the first Bangladeshi appearance in the league since Shakib Al Hasan played for the Melbourne Renegades in 2014–15.
Last year, the Hurricanes had selected Rishad, but he could not take part after the Bangladesh Cricket Board withheld his No Objection Certificate.
“I am truly happy and excited for the Big Bash. It is one of the biggest leagues in the world, which makes it very important for me. That is why I decided to participate in the Big Bash,” Rishad said.
“As a Bangladeshi, I always try to represent my country to the best of my ability and I will give 100 per cent in Hobart,” Rishad added.
