NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Live Updates: The NEET UG re-examination will be held today, June 21 from 2 pm to 5:15 pm in pen-and-paper mode across 551 cities in India and 14 abroad, for over 22.79 lakh candidates. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented stringent security measures, including mandatory frisking with high-sensitivity metal detectors, enhanced personnel deployment, and real-time monitoring through centralised systems.
Candidates appearing for the re-test must carry their admit card, a valid photo ID, and two passport-size photographs, failing which entry will be denied. The NTA has also introduced WhatsApp updates, advising students to rely only on verified accounts.
According to the agency, the exam will be conducted at 5,440
centres with over 95,000 CCTV-equipped rooms and 1.38 lakh cameras under live monitoring. AI surveillance, over 51,000 jammers, biometric verification, and heavy deployment of security forces have been ensured. A nationwide mock drill was also conducted on June 20 to test preparedness.
The re-exam follows the cancellation of the May 3 test after investigators found a ‘guess paper’ matching a significant number of questions circulating online. Meanwhile, 1,672 candidates have approached the Supreme Court seeking a postponement and an independent probe, citing stress and technical issues.
