Pankaj Tripathi has never shied away honouring his roots. It’s his remarkable charm and love for his village, Belsand in Bihar’s Gopalganj, that sets him apart from other stars. Now, a heartwarming video featuring him spending quality time with the locals and enjoying his culture has grabbed attention. The actor visited his village recently to mark his mother’s death anniversary.
In a video going viral on X, Pankaj Tripathi can be seen singing the traditional folk songs of Bihar, named fagua, with the locals of his village. He was seen wearing a black shirt under a grey jacket and cargo pants. He even wrapped a turban in the Bihari style while enjoying the session.

Pankaj Tripathi’s Return To Theatre
The actor has been making fans nostalgic with his return to theatre. Pankaj and his wife, Mridula Tiwari’s maiden theatre production Lailaaj, has been shortlisted to be showcased at Bharat Rang Mahotsav, hosted by the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi.
Written and directed by Faiz Mohammed Khan, the musical comedy play under their banner Roopkatha Rangmanch features the stage debut of the couple’s daughter, Aashi.
Revealing his honest emotions, Tripathi told ANI, “Bharat Rang Mahotsav holds a very special place in the world of Indian theatre, and to have Lailaaj selected for its 25th edition is truly humbling. Theatre is where my roots lie, and NSD has always represented discipline, honesty, and deep respect for the craft. To bring our very first production under Roopkatha Rangmanch to a platform like this feels like a full-circle moment.”
He added, “Sharing this stage with my daughter Aashi adds an emotional layer that I will always cherish. I see this not just as a performance, but as an offering to the theatre community that shaped me”

In 2025, the 49-year-old appeared in Anurag Basu’s movie Metro… In Dino, opposite Konkona Sen Sharma.
Besides this, he also appeared in Criminal Justice: A Family Matter, a legal drama series directed by Rohan Sippy. Produced by Sameer Nair, it also starred Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Surveen Chawla, Khushboo Atre and Asha Negi in prominent roles.
