Ranchi, Aug 11 (PTI) The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Jharkhand grew by 10.87 per cent from Rs 4,65,638 crore in 2023-24 to Rs 5,16,255 crore in 2024-25, a report tabled in the Assembly on Tuesday said.
The State Finance Audit Report for the year 2024-25 said that in the 2024-25 fiscal, revenue receipts grew at 7.46 per cent over the previous year driven by increased central tax devolution.
The state’s own tax revenue increased marginally by 1.77 per cent, it stated.
Total expenditure of the state increased by 7.56 per cent from Rs 1,01,537 crore in 2023-24 to Rs 1,09,212 crore in 2024-25.
The state government spent Rs 18,410 crore on capital in 2024-25, against Rs 20,570 crore in 2023-24, it added.
Jharkhand recorded a revenue surplus
of Rs 7,924 crore in 2024-25, which was lower by Rs 3,328 crore compared to the revenue surplus of Rs 11,252 crore in 2023-24, the report further said.
The fiscal deficit of the state increased to Rs 14,527 crore in 2024-25, against Rs 6,332 crore in 2023-24, it added. PTI SAN ACD
