Rashmika Mandanna is gearing up for the release of her much-anticipated romantic drama The Girlfriend, slated to hit theatres on November 7, 2025. The film’s newly released trailer has already generated significant buzz, not just for its emotional intensity but also for the actress’s remarkable commitment to her craft — something the film’s producer, Sreenivasa Kumar (SKN), was quick to praise.
Producer Lauds Rashmika’s Dedication
Speaking at the trailer launch event, SKN commended Rashmika for her unparalleled professionalism and dedication. He revealed that unlike most stars, Rashmika never placed limitations on her work hours, remaining available to the crew whenever required. He said, “Rashmika never imposed any restrictions on us regarding
the shooting schedule. She is the only actress in India who does not impose work-hour restrictions. She was always available whenever needed and worked beyond the stipulated hours without any complaints.”
The producer further added that Rashmika’s faith in the project and her genuine passion for her work made her stand out. “Her trust in the team and her selfless attitude spoke volumes about her character. She believed in The Girlfriend wholeheartedly and supported us throughout. For her, acting isn’t just a job — it’s love,” SKN remarked.
About ‘The Girlfriend’
Directed by Rahul Ravindran, The Girlfriend delves into the life of Bhooma, a young woman caught in the emotional turbulence of a toxic relationship with her classmate. The trailer teases a dark, gripping journey of love, control, and self-discovery, heightened by Rashmika’s raw and intense performance.
Joining Rashmika are Dheekshith Shetty and Anu Emmanuel in pivotal roles, along with Rao Ramesh and Rohini. The film’s music, composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab (Hridayam), adds emotional weight to the story, while the haunting visuals promise an immersive cinematic experience.
Rashmika’s Upcoming Projects
Fresh off the success of Thamma, where she starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rashmika continues to expand her horizons. She is reportedly set to appear next in Atlee’s upcoming pan-India project with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA22xA6, where she is rumoured to play a darker, more complex character. The film will also feature Deepika Padukone in a prominent role.
With The Girlfriend, Rashmika Mandanna seems ready to deliver another emotionally charged performance, cementing her reputation as one of the most fearless and versatile actresses in contemporary Indian cinema.
