The first test run of a 10-km section of Mumbai Metro-4in Thane city will be conducted on September 22, a release from Maharashtra transport minister Pratap Sarnaik’s office said on Friday.
The work of the stretch between Cadbury Junction and Kasarvadavali is complete and will undergo its first test run on Monday, it said.
Thane to Wadala Metro through Line 4 and 4A (extension of 4 till Gaimukh) will come as a relief from the hours-long traffic snarls or even general road travel along the Eastern Express Highway (EEH) and Ghodbunder Road.

Line 4 (Wadala-Kasarvadavali): It will be fully elevated, 32.32 km long with 30 stations.

What will be Mumbai Metro-4, 4A fares?
The Metro is likely to use Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) with digital cards and QR tokens
Expected fares (aligned with similar Mumbai Metro lines): Rs 10 up to 2 km), Rs 20 (2-5 km), Rs 30 (5-12 km), Rs 40 (12-18 km), Rs 50 (18-24 km).

Why Mumbai Metro 4, 4A will be a boon for commuters
Road travel between Wadala and Kasarvadavali takes 60-75 minutes. The Metro is expected to cut it to 30-40 minutes.
It will come as a good alternative to congested roads across LBS belt, Ghodbunder Road, Thane, Mulund, Bhandup.
It will provide a faster, predictable commute, especially for executives and directors traveling to commercial hubs in Wadala, Bhandup, Mulund, Thane.
