Amaravati, Sep 18 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday directed officials to prepare a mass transportation plan for the greenfield capital city of Amaravati.
The chief minister directed them to see that the plan links Vijayawada, Guntur and other nearby places through the mass transport system, an official release said.
“For public transportation in Amaravati capital, prepare a plan for mass transportation, which will link Vijayawada, Guntur and other places in the vicinity,” the CM said during the 66th Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting.
Likewise, the CRDA meeting chaired by the CM has approved Rs 661 crore for the construction of a 250-metre-tall spire on the new assembly building being built in Amaravati.
Similarly, the authority approved Rs 1,548 crore to invite tenders for developing infrastructure in 29 villages falling under the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS).
It also approved the proposals of a ministers’ committee allocating land for hotels and schools, the release said. PTI STH KH
