Prabhas To Begin Kalki 2 Shoot, Will Simultaneously Work On Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Spirit

Prabhas has two much-awaited projects in his pipeline – Kalki 2 and Spirit. While fans are eagerly waiting for these films, it has now been reported that the actor is gearing up for an action-packed February as he prepares to juggle both projects simultaneously.

According to a latest report by Deccan Chronicle, Prabhas is set to return to the world of Kalki 2898 AD, with principal photography for the much-anticipated sequel scheduled to begin in February 2026. The film will once again be directed by Nag Ashwin, following the success of the first installment.

Well, Prabhas will not just be shooting for Kalki 2 in February. The report also claimed that the actor will also rejoin the sets of Spirit, helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Regular shooting for Spirit reportedly

commenced late last year and Prabhas is now expected to resume his portions soon.

Sai Pallavi In Kalki 2?

Ever since Deepika Padukone’s exit from the sequel to Kalki: 2898 AD, everyone is eager to know who will replace the actress in the Prabhas starrer. While there is no confirmed name as of now, it looks like Sai Pallavi is set to join the movie. Recently, Siasat.com reported that Sai Pallavi might step into the role and is being considered as Deepika’s replacement.

In September 2025, the makers of Prabhas starrer took to their official X handle and announced Deepika’s exit from the film. The announcement stated that Deepika is no longer a part of the project because a film like Kalki “deserves commitment”.

Later, several reports claimed that Kalki 2 makers decided to drop Deepika since she was demanding a 25 per cent hike in her fees with a 7-hour work shift. Reportedly, the makers tried to negotiate these two demands of the actress with her, but she remained rigid.

Later, Deepika Padukone also spoke exclusively to CNBC-TV18 when she addressed the ongoing debate surrounding working conditions and pay parity in Bollywood and said, “I have done this at many levels; this is not new to me. I think, even as far as pay is concerned, I have had to deal with whatever comes with it. I don’t even know what to call it, but I am someone who has always fought my battles silently. And for some strange reason, sometimes they become public which is not the way I know and not the way I’ve been brought up. But yes, to fight my battles silently and in a dignified way is the way I know.”

About Vanga’s Spirit With Prabhas

Besides Prabhas, the film also stars Triptii Dimri in the lead. Interestingly, this movie was also supposed to star Deepika Padukone initially. However, she was ousted from the project in 2025.

Vivek Oberoi and Prakash Raj will also be playing key roles in the movie. Spirit will hit theatres worldwide on March 5, 2027.
