Cipla Q1 Results: Net Profit Declines 39% YoY To Rs 789 Crore, Revenue Up 1.7%

Cipla Q1 Results: Drug maker Cipla on Thursday reported a 39 per cent decline in its net profit to Rs 789.05 crore for the first quarter ended June 2026. Its revenue during April-June 2026 increased 1.7 per cent to Rs 7,119.28 crore, compared with Rs 6,957.47 crore in the year-ago period.

Its net profit had stood at Rs 1,297.62 crore in the corresponding period last year, according to a regulatory filing.

Following its Q1 FY27 results, shares of Cipla were trading lower by 1.93 per cent at Rs 1,382.2 apiece on the NSE, as of 12:25 pm.

However, on a sequential basis, its net profit jumped 42% from Rs 555 crore in the fourth quarter of FY26. The company’s revenue from operations rose 9% from Rs 6,541 crore in Q4.

The drug maker’s Ebitda declined 33%

YoY to Rs 1,192 crore during Q1 FY27, compared with Rs 1,778 crore a year ago. Its EBITDA margin also fell to 16.7%, against 25.6% in the year-ago quarter. Ebitda stands for earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.

Its total expenses stood at Rs 6,248 crore, which is 14.7% higher compared with Rs 5,446 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Cipla’s total tax expense declined to Rs 295 crore from Rs 478 crore last year, the company’s regulatory filing showed.

The drug maker’s earnings per share Rs 9.77 compared to Rs 16.07 in the year-ago period. On a sequential basis, EPS improved from Rs 6.87. Going ahead, investors will closely track the management’s commentary on the generic drug tariff announced by US President Donald Trump, which is set to take effect from 2028.
