When Eli finally decided to open his piggy bank, he was left stunned. According to Newsweek, he emptied his coins into a Coinstar machine, which counts and exchanges coins for cash

or gift cards. The machine recorded 801 pennies, 928 nickels, 1,202 dimes, 2,002 quarters, one half-dollar coin, and 11 one-dollar bills, totalling $686.61 (around Rs 61,000).

However, Coinstar deducted a processing fee of $89.16 (about Rs 8,000), leaving Eli with $597.45 (around Rs 53,000). Despite the deduction, he was thrilled. “I never thought I’d saved this much… I was really surprised,” Eli said.

Spending It On His Passion

Being an avid vinyl record collector, Eli decided to spend the money on something close to his heart. He bought a few new records and shared his excitement online.

What began as a simple Facebook post soon went viral after being shared on Threads, attracting thousands of reactions and comments.
