IndiGo went through a rough phase toward the end of 2025, when several flights were cancelled due to staff shortages. The issues raised concerns among passengers. Now, the budget airline looks ready for a fresh start as they have introduced UpFront, a new premium seating option within its economy cabin for passengers who want more comfort without paying business class prices. This seating option offers front row seats with extra legroom, along with added benefits such as free meals and flexible booking options.
The move comes at a time when Indian flyers are looking for more choice, especially on longer domestic and short international routes. With UpFront, the airline is trying to improve revenue, rebuild trust and attract high paying passengers
while keeping its low cost image intact.
UpFront Marks A Fresh Start
As per the press release, “UpFront represents IndiGo’s first in, first out service experience, curated for travellers seeking superior convenience and added comfort with extra legroom. Five Fare Choices For Different Travel Needs
With the launch of UpFront, IndiGo has expanded its ticket options to give passengers more control over how they want to travel. The airline now offers five different fare types, so people can choose based on comfort, price and added benefits.
In the regular economy cabin, there are three options. Saver is the most affordable choice and comes with standard seats. On longer flights, hot meals are included. Flexi passengers can pick their seat, get a free snack and cancel without trouble. UpFront is meant for those who want extra comfort in economy. It offers front row seats with more legroom, a complimentary snack and easy cancellation.
Apart from the economy, IndiGo also has two higher comfort options under IndiGoStretch. Stretch gives more space, better privacy, full meals and priority service from check in to boarding. Stretch+ includes all these benefits, along with extra baggage allowance, easy cancellation and access to airport lounges.
