A relative of Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Kanpur. The deceased has been identified as Aarav Mishra, son of Alok Mishra, who is a distant relative of Sinha, according to media reports.
A note was reportedly found in Aarav’s pocket, in which he urged his family members to check the messages he had written before his death. The contents of the note and the messages are expected to be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have not yet released further details and the family has not made a public statement. An inquiry is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
Manoj Sinha, a senior BJP leader and former Union Minister, has been serving
as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since August 2020. He has previously represented Ghazipur in Parliament and held key portfolios in the Railways and Communications Ministries.
