New Delhi, Jul 29 (PTI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday demolished 14 unauthorised properties and sealed another as part of its ongoing crackdown against illegal construction across the city, officials said.
The civic body also issued 16 show-cause notices to property owners for unauthorised construction, initiating legal proceedings under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act.
Officials said that the action was carried out by its Building Department across different parts of the city as part of routine enforcement against violations of building norms.
They added that since June 1, the civic body has demolished 681 unauthorised properties and sealed 398 others during its citywide enforcement drive.
Additionally, officials also
urged residents not to undertake construction without obtaining the required approvals from the authority. PTI MSJ RHL
