A viral video circulating on social media has raised serious concerns about road safety in Bengaluru, after several nails were found scattered on flyovers near Mandaragiri Hill.
The incident has sparked
alarm among motorists and two-wheeler riders, who fear the nails were deliberately placed to cause tyre punctures.
The footage was recorded by a group of travellers returning from an outing. It shows their vehicle suffering a sudden puncture after hitting a nail near the IKEA showroom. The group had a spare tube and managed to replace it on the spot without further trouble.

As they continued their journey, the group noticed more nails spread across different parts of the road. They later stopped on another flyover to record fresh video evidence, showing clusters of nails and warning other commuters. They claimed that dozens of nails had been deliberately scattered to create a trap for unsuspecting drivers.
The original video post tagged the Bangalore City Police and other authorities, calling for urgent action. However, at the time of writing, no official response or statement has been issued.
The video quickly gained traction online, drawing hundreds of reactions. Some users shared personal stories of similar experiences in other areas of the city. One comment read, “Such a clever (and evil) scam! It’s crucial people know about this. I hope the authorities take quick action. What’s the best way to report these incidents safely?.”
“This is a scam happening from past 4 years in Bengaluru. My bike used to be regularly getting punctured between HSR flyover and Eco space,” another user wrote.
“This is happening all over Bangalore — drove barely 2–3 km on the main road, no construction site nearby, yet ended up with 3 nails in my tyre. Second time in just 10 days. What’s going on?,” a user asked.
