BTS leader RM has sparked widespread discussion among fans after sharing a deeply introspective message on social media, shortly after his candid remarks about the group’s treatment by their agency. Known
for his thoughtful reflections and emotional transparency, RM’s latest post resonated strongly with ARMYs across the globe, particularly given its timing amid renewed conversations around BTS’ relationship with HYBE.
Alongside the post, RM shared two muted selfies in which he appeared visibly pensive and low-spirited. The subdued images, paired with his reflective words, prompted an outpouring of concern, empathy and support from fans, many of whom interpreted the message as a window into the emotional toll he may be carrying.
Taking to X, RM shared a long note encouraging people to be gentler with themselves while confronting feelings of guilt and self-blame. He wrote, “Be kind to yourself. It takes courage to show kindness to your own small self, the one that blames itself for every little mistake that happens in life.”
He went on to reflect on the habit of replaying past decisions. “If you think that what happened is your fault, like I do. And like I do. If you find yourself looking back at the past, trying to undo your mistakes, and beating yourself up over what you should have done differently, then hear me out. It’s already happened. You can go back to the past and blame yourself as much as you want, but in the end, all you’ll find is the past version of yourself who didn’t know the information you have now. No matter how much you replay the past, your current situation won’t change.”
RM concluded the message with a stark observation on self-forgiveness. “And you can blame yourself for as long as you want, but all it does is trap you in a vicious cycle of self-loathing and the desire to forgive yourself. Someday, you’ll realize that what happened may or may not have been your fault, but the way you’re treating yourself right now is definitely a conscious choice.”
Fans link post to RM’s recent remarks during BTS OT7 live
The post quickly went viral, with many fans drawing connections between RM’s words and his recent comments during BTS’ OT7 livestream on Weverse on December 21. The live session, featuring RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, was intended as a celebratory moment ahead of Christmas and the New Year. The members also marked V’s birthday in advance and teased what they described as a “crazy” upcoming comeback album.
However, the mood briefly shifted when RM made a candid remark about their agency. “I wish our company had some affection for us,” he said, visibly surprising both fans and fellow members. Jimin burst into laughter at the unexpected honesty, while J-Hope asked, “Why? What’s the reason?” Jin attempted to ease the moment by saying, “Doesn’t the company care? They work hard for us.”
RM, however, calmly stood his ground and responded, “I don’t usually say things like this, right? I just don’t know. I wish they would look after us and treat us with more care.”
Although RM did not directly reference HYBE in his later post, many fans believe the message reflects the emotional weight of speaking openly. The somber selfies he shared further reinforced that interpretation, leaving ARMYs rallying around their leader with messages of reassurance and support.
