Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, shared a thoughtful post on social media about India’s natural beauty on Sunday morning. Taking to his X handle, he highlighted the country’s beauty and tourism
potential, sharing pictures originally captured by Sandesh Samant.
The pictures feature the lush green landscapes of the Konkan region during the monsoon season. In the post, Mahindra underlined that Maharashtra is underrated.
“These photos of the Konkan region in the monsoon were shared by @sandesh_samant along with the comment: ‘Maharashtra is so underrated and we have created no infrastructure for tourism.” I wouldn’t agree that we created NO infrastructure. He may have said that in order to be emphatic,” wrote Mahindra on X.
“But his intentions are good, and his statement applies to our entire country. Breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. All underrated and all waiting for our appreciation,” he added.

“Lets keep the beautiful magnificent beauty of Kokan secret and keep the outsider with a lack of civic sense away from becoming next Goa kind of disaster,” wrote one social media user.
“India hides more beauty than brochures will ever show,” said another.
“#Gud words sir..Not just Maharashtra — this applies to our entire country. Such breathtaking natural beauty all around us, yet tourism infrastructure still lags far behind. All these underrated landscapes deserve our recognition and pride,” wrote on X user.
Another user said,”Anand sir Maharashtra is earning enough through other sources, please let these places stay hidden. Look at what north goa has become because of immigration from northern states.”
