As Shah Rukh Khan turns 60 today, his fans across the world are celebrating the milestone with the same love and madness that has defined his stardom for decades. While the celebrations this year are all
about exclusive fan meets and packed crowds outside Mannat, here’s a throwback to how SRK marked his 46th birthday – a moment that still captures the essence of why he is loved the way he is.
Fans, Mannat and Pure Magic
Back in 2011, thousands gathered outside his iconic residence, Mannat, in Bandra. Fans waited for hours under the sun just to catch a glimpse of their favourite star. Many came dressed as his characters – from “Chamak Challo” avatars to handmade posters and banners celebrating King Khan.
When SRK finally stepped out to greet them, the crowd erupted, chanting “G.One!” in reference to his then-new film Ra.One. And in true SRK style, he didn’t just wave – he broke into a quick “Chamak Challo” dance move, sending fans into a frenzy. A little later, he came out again, but this time to get closer – shaking hands, taking a few steps among them, living the moment with them.
A Proud Dad Moment
In that birthday interaction, the proud father also shared a sweet gesture from his children, Suhana and Aryan. He said, “Suhana made a poster on which Aryan added his name. It reads: ‘Please don’t ever change as you are the best father. We know you work very hard but you still take out time to be with us. We don’t wish for angels because we get whatever we want and don’t worry Ra.One is the biggest hit in the history of Indian cinema’.”
Even with the world cheering for him, SRK kept his heart grounded in his roots. Reflecting on his childhood, he had then shared, “I come from a lower middle class family; we couldn’t afford to celebrate on a birthday by throwing a big party. I never had money to buy a cake. Till today, I try to keep my birthday as simple as possible. I feel overwhelmed that my fans all over the world celebrate this day with so much of joy.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th Birthday Plans
Cut to 2025 and SRK is all set to celebrate with his fans again. According to a report in India Today, a dedicated fan event is taking place at Balgandharva Rangmandir in Bandra at 4 pm. This gathering is strictly for those holding special passes distributed through select fan clubs. No general entry. No media presence. Only genuine SRK lovers are filling up the venue. The superstar is planning to wave at his sea of fans from an under-renovation Mannat too.
