Why Are Rajasthan Royals Wearing A Special Pink Jersey For Today's IPL 2026 Match Vs GT?

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have continued their ‘Pink Promise’ initiative during their IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Saturday, with the team wearing a special all-pink jersey.

Led by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation, the Pink Promise campaign focuses on women-led social change and sustainable development across rural Rajasthan. The initiative, now in its third season, uses the IPL platform to support electrification and empowerment projects for women in underserved communities.

The special jersey for IPL 2026 was designed by 19-year-old Samiksha Rameshwar Mundada from Nashik after winning the Royals HunaRR Manch contest, which received over 8,500 entries from across the country. The jersey features solar-inspired

patterns along with the names of women supported by the foundation and carries the message, ‘Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai.’

As part of the initiative, the Royals announced that every six hit during the match against GT will help provide solar power to six homes in Rajasthan. As per the RR’s official release, the Pink Promise campaign has already electrified 260 homes in 2024 and more than 520 homes in 2025 through women-led solar energy projects in regions including Sambhar.

The franchise added that proceeds from ticket sales and the sale of the special pink jerseys will continue to support women-led rural development programmes across the state.

RR won the toss and opted to bowl first. Yashasvi Jaiswal stood in as the captain for the injured Riyan Parag.

“We are going to bowl first,” Jaiswal said at the toss. “I think the wicket is pretty good and we want to chase it. Riyan pulled his hamstring last game, so I feel he’ll be coming back soon. Shimron Hetmyer comes in and Yash Raj Punja comes in. That’s the two guys who are coming in. I’m really excited, looking forward to the game.”
