Amaal Mallik Confirms Composing A Song For Emraan Hashmi Starrer Awarapan 2: ‘Nervous Yet Excited’

Music composer-singer Amaal Mallik has confirmed that he is composing a song in Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film, Awarapan 2, leaving fans thrilled! Amaal reunites with lyricist Rashmi Virag for this song after a 10-year gap, and their previous two songs starring Emraan Hashmi turned into massive hits. The trio first worked together on the 2015 non-film chartbuster ‘Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon,’ followed by ‘Bol Do Na Zara’ from the 2016 film Azhar. Both songs went on to become widely popular. Amaal has now confirmed composing a track in Awarapan 2, and penned a note of gratitude calling it a dream come true.

Soon after Variety India broke the news of Amaal joining hands with lyricist Rashmi Virag for a song in Awarapan 2, Amaal Mallik shared the news on social

media, and also added a note of gratitude. “Simple sa ek surprise dene ka plan tha aur ab @VarietyIndia aapne toh mujhe hi #AprilFool bana diya aaj haha, and you’re 25 days late #Amaalins mera ek aur surprise aayega, tab tak yeh good news toh share honi chahiye…. Fingers crossed, with all the blessings I might just be doing my first @VisheshFilms soundtrack, this one has taken almost 2 decades to arrive as a dream fulfilment,” he wrote.

About The Song

The song, composed by Amaal, will release later this year, closer to the film’s release date. Amaal was only 16 years old when Awarapan, starring Emraan, released in 2007. He says that he always dreamt of getting a chance to work with Vishesh Films as he believes they focus on melodies instead of chasing formulaic music.

“It’s been my dream since the age of 16 to work with the Bhatts. Now, when I am in my mid-30s, thanks to Mukesh Bhatt Sir, my dream is finally becoming a reality with ‘Awarapan 2,’” Amaal told Variety India. The title of the song, the singer, and the release timeline are not known yet.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, Vishesh Films took to social media and announced the film’s release date. “Keep yourself FREE this Independence Day weekend and Join us on 14 Aug 2026, Awarapan 2 in Cinemas,” they wrote. Emraan will reprise his iconic role as Shivam Pandit, with the film directed by Nitin Kakkar. Awarapan 2 will lock horns with the Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta starrer Lahore 1947.
