The teaser of Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana, one of the most anticipated films of 2026, was unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti 2026 on April 2 during a grand event in Mumbai. Offering audiences their first glimpse of Ranbir as Lord Rama, the teaser quickly became a talking point across platforms. While many viewers praised its scale and visual ambition, others expressed varied opinions, resulting in a wave of mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. Now, actor and politician Nitish Bharadwaj, who played Lord Rama in BR Chopra’s Ramayan, and is popular for portraying Lord Krishna in Mahabharat, has reacted to the Ramayana teaser.
Nitish Bharadwaj reacts to Ramayana teaser

Bharadwaj, who won immense appreciation for bringing Lord Rama and Lord Krishna to life on screen, extended his warm wishes to the entire team. He said, “Ramayana in a global avatar. Best wishes to Nitesh Tiwari & the team.”

Earlier, the OG Sita Dipika Chikhlia too expressed her opinions and heaped praise on the Nitesh Tiwari directorial. Speaking about the first glimpse, she said, “I watched the teaser, and it’s very grand. Bahut rich lag raha hai. Unhone bahut achhe se banaya hai. So now I’m awaiting the film, and it’s looking very beautiful, there’s no doubt about it.”
The much-awaited Ramayana teaser featured Ranbir Kapoor looking majestic as Lord Rama. It also offered a glimpse of Yash’s look as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita, without revealing their faces. While some netizens were impressed by the grand visuals, others criticised it for its VFX. A section of people even compared it to Prabhas’ flop film Adipurush.
Meanwhile, Ramayana also features Sunny Deol in the role of Hanuman, while Ravie Dubey steps into the character of Lakshman, Lord Rama’s devoted brother. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and backed by Namit Malhotra, the magnum opus, touted as one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema, is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, with its second part arriving in theatres on Diwali 2027.
