Dharmendra, fondly known as the ‘He-Man of Bollywood’, passed away at the age of 89. The veteran star breathed his last on November 24, 2025, just days after being discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where he had been admitted for a routine check-up. The actor had complained of breathlessness but was deemed stable enough to continue recovery at home. However, his condition deteriorated unexpectedly on Monday morning, leading to his demise.
Dharmendra is survived by wives Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and daughters Vijeta Deol, Ajeita Deol, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. He was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. His last onscreen appearance will be ‘Ikkis’, which is slated to release on December 25. The film sees him playing Agastya Nanda’s grandfather, Brigadier ML Khetarpal.
‘Ikkis’, directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, revisits the life of Arun Khetarpal, whose extraordinary bravery on the battlefield turned him into a national hero. The film follows his journey from a young officer full of promise to a wartime legend whose sacrifice continues to be remembered more than five decades later.
