Trust Karan Johar to be the life of the party wherever he goes. The ace filmmaker recently attended the pre-wedding celebrations of Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and filmmaker Sharan Sharma. Needless to say, once he took the stage, all eyes were on him. On Friday night, the couple hosted a sangeet ceremony in Mumbai, which was attended by several of their friends.
Among the bigwigs who attended the event were Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor , as well. KJo shared a performance with Janhvi as they set the stage on fire, grooving to ‘Shava Shava’ from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Johar didn’t just stop there. He also danced to Salman Khan’s ‘Jeene Ke Hain Chaar Din’ from Mujhse Shaadi Karoge, using a towel.

Actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and filmmaker Sharan Sharma are set to begin a new chapter in their lives as they tie the knot today, July 11. The couple, who have reportedly been in a relationship since 2022, have largely kept their romance away from the public eye. Their intimate wedding will be attended by close friends and family, followed by a grand reception on July 12, where several celebrities from the film industry are expected to join the celebrations.
Previously, a source close to the couple shared exclusive details of the wedding with News18 Showsha and told us, “Akansha and Sharan won’t be having traditional pheras or any elaborate religious ceremonies. Instead, they’ve chosen to keep things simple by opting for a registered marriage. The legal formalities will take place at the Ranjan residence in Mumbai.”
“The couple will sign the marriage documents in the presence of their near and dear ones. The emphasis is on celebrating the union with loved ones rather than following conventional wedding customs, making it a deeply personal and low-key occasion.”
