An Australian man confronted an elderly couple sitting outside a department store has sparked criticism after he accused them of stealing. But a witness later claimed that the couple had actually paid for the item that they were carrying and alleged that the store must have forgotten to remove the anti-theft security tag.
The man named Trent Carter shared a video on Instagram, where he was seen approaching the couple after noticing that they were carrying an item with the tag intact. The couple was sitting outside Kmart and appeared to be having some conversation when he confronted them
He Accused The Couple Of “Stealing”
“Hey, you stole that? You stole it? You’re a stealer? You steal it,” Carter said while pointing towards the security tag still
on the packaged box. The couple looked visibly confused by the accusation and seemed to have difficulty responding to him.
Sharing the video, Carter wrote in the caption, “Walking past this couple and noticed something odd, obviously just left Kmart and couldn’t wait to get home.”
