icon who enjoys a massive fan-following in India kept the crowd hooked from the moment he stepped onto the stage.
Akon Surprises Fans With Chammak Challo
Akon took the stage and asked the fans if they were ready “to party” and started his concert with a “Mumbai, I love you” scream. He surprised fans with a special Mumbai-only twist as he performed his widely praised song Chammak Challo. As he began singing the original version, fans erupted in loud cheers and sang along with the star.
Akon Delivered an Electrifying Performance in Mumbai
Alongside the special surprise, Akon’s setlist was packed with some of his biggest hits from the 2000s. From fan favourite Beautiful to chart-topping Smack That and classics I Wanna Love You, Dangerous, Belly Dancer, Blame It on Me, and Ghetto, among others, Akon transported fans back to the electrifying pop era of the 2000s.
To make things more special on the final day of his India tour, Akon’s Mumbai concert featured India’s teen boy band OutStation as the opening act. The group comprises five members, including Bhuvan Shetty, Hemang Singh, Mashaal Shaikh, Kurien Sebastian, and Shayan Pattem.
Akon Rolls Inside a Giant Bubble
Amid his high-energy performance, Akon’s innovative interaction with fans won hearts. Just a day after his viral interaction with Bengaluru fans, where the overexcited crowd accidentally pulled his pants down, the singer appeared to take a bit of precaution this time.
Akon was seen rolling across the crowd inside a giant clear bubble, ensuring a controlled and playful interaction with fans. Outside the bubble, the singer made sure his fans still got to interact with him personally. He was seen spending time moving around the fan pit, clicking pictures, shaking hands, and singing along with the crowd.
With nostalgia, fun, and spectacle, Akon’s performance gifted fans an unforgettable night, which they’ll surely cherish for years. Ahead of coming to Mumbai, Akon also had two shows in India, including Delhi on November 9 and Bengaluru on November 14.
