The candidate, who has three years of experience in data analytics, recently completed an MBA from IIM Kozhikode. They said they have tried several ways to find a new role, including contacting recruiters directly and applying through multiple job platforms.
The Candidate Says Applications Led To Mostly Rejections
Sharing their situation on Reddit, the candidate wrote, “3 YOE + IIM-K MBA, 250+ applications, still not a single callback. Anyone hiring?” They explained that they have an engineering background and worked in data analytics
for three years before joining IIM Kozhikode for an MBA.
After completing the course, they started looking for a new job because they were unhappy with their current company, Genman. The candidate said they had been trying almost every possible route.
“I’ve been throwing everything at the wall, that is, cold emailing recruiters and hiring managers, applying through LinkedIn, Naukri, iimjobs, you name it.” Despite those efforts, there was little response.
“Mostly straight up rejected, and for a good chunk of them I just… never hear back. Not one callback in all this.” The candidate also said they did not have a strong network to depend on for referrals and turned to Reddit to seek advice and possible job leads.

The post led other professionals to share their own experiences of trying to switch jobs.
