The franchise announced that Rajasthan all-rounder Mahipal Lomror has been drafted in as a replacement for South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. Meanwhile, Saurashtra wicketkeeper-batter Ruchit Ahir has replaced Raj Angad Bawa, who is also unavailable because of an injury setback.

Lomror, a left-handed middle-order batter who also bowls slow left-arm orthodox, brings considerable IPL experience to the Mumbai setup. The Rajasthan cricketer has previously represented four
franchises in the league and is regarded as a versatile all-round option capable of contributing in multiple phases of the game.
Ahir, on the other hand, is a promising wicketkeeper-batter from Saurashtra who has impressed in domestic cricket circles. He was also part of the Reliance side during the DY Patil T20 Cup earlier this year, where members of the Mumbai Indians coaching staff and team management had the opportunity to closely monitor his performances.
In an official statement, the Mumbai Indians welcomed both players to the squad as the team looks to strengthen its resources ahead of the crucial final phase of the IPL 2026 season.
