Prayagraj (UP), Sep 10 (PTI) Police have arrested a woman, her son and daughter in connection with a cow slaughter case in the Ganga Nagar area here and recovered a cow hide, meat-sale proceeds and weapons allegedly used in the offence, an official said on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Ganga Nagar) Kuldeep Gunawat said police arrested accused Sagar Shukla (22), his mother Rachna Shukla (52) and sister Anita Shukla (20) near Bajha Mishran village.
Police recovered three cleavers, two wooden blocks, a cow hide and Rs 880 allegedly earned from selling the meat, he said. The DCP said Nagesh Kumar Tripathi, a resident of Chaura Badera village, complained that his cow, which was tied to a post, went missing on September 3.
Its remains and
hide were later found near a well in bushes in Mishran village.
Handia police station registered a case on September 6 under Sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act against five named accused, including Rajjan Shukla, Ankit Shukla and Sagar Shukla.
Police are searching for Rajjan and Ankit, who are Sagar’s brothers, the DCP said. PTI RAJ CDN ASD ASD
