Tom Holland, the actor who brings Peter Parker aka Spider-Man to life, was injured on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day while performing a stunt. On Friday, September 19, he reportedly suffered a concussion on the Glasgow set of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film. Sources familiar with the situation have shared that his injury was mild.
As reported by Rolling Stone, Tom will be taking a short break from filming following the incident as a precautionary step. He will return to the sets in a few days after his recovery. While sources did not reveal exactly how the actor got injured, they shared that no other cast or crew members were hurt during the incident, and the production of the upcoming film will continue as per schedule.
When
Tom Holland Met With Fans On Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Set
Spider-Man: Brand New Day began production in Glasgow in early August. Unlike the previous films, which were filmed in total secrecy, the fourth instalment in the Spider-Man film series chose to go a full 180 on that approach. Last month, the production team allowed fans on set to witness the behind-the-scenes magic. The video from the first day of shooting went viral on social media, capturing Tom lifting a little fan in his arms.
In the 60-second clip shared by Sony, the 29-year-old actor was seen on the set of the film, expressing his excitement. “It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man,” Holland said and smiled as he went on to talk about returning to the role. “It feels funny putting the suit on. It feels different this time, somehow,” he shared.
The Spider-Man actor continued, “It is also the first time we have had fans on set for day 1, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.” The video then showed Tom interacting with fans, lifting a little kid up in his arms, taking a picture with him, and posing with a few more kids before returning to the action.
