Salman Khan and Aamir Khan’s bond has been anything but conventional, marked by phases of distance, candid disagreements, and moments of mutual admiration. Over the years, their friendship has seen its share of ups and downs, often playing out in the public eye, yet it has managed to endure. Despite their contrasting personalities and approaches to cinema, there remains an underlying respect that has kept their equation intact. Back in 2016, Salman publicly confessed that he hates Aamir professionally and took over social media by storm with his comment. What exactly had happened? Read on to know.
Back in the day, Salman Khan was quite active on X (formerly Twitter). He used to share candid and fun tweets, often giving fans a glimpse into his
unfiltered thoughts and playful side. From cheeky one-liners to spontaneous interactions, his posts would frequently grab attention and spark conversations online. It was during this phase that one of his tweets about Aamir Khan, where he jokingly said he “hated him professionally,” ended up creating a buzz, perfectly capturing their mix of rivalry and camaraderie.
After watching his blockbuster film, Dangal, Salman had tweeted, “My Family saw #Dangal today evening and thought it was a much better film than #Sultan. Love u personally Aamir but hate u professionally!” Responding to the playful jab, Aamir wrote, “@BeingSalmanKhan Sallu, in your ‘hate’ I feel only love. ‘I love you like I hate you.’” Their light-hearted exchange perfectly captured the warmth behind their camaraderie, with fans loving the candid and witty banter between the two superstars.

Both Sultan and Dangal revolve around the world of wrestling, yet they tell strikingly different stories. While Salman portrayed a fallen champion seeking redemption and a second shot at glory in Sultan, Aamir took on the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat in Dangal, a determined father who defied societal norms to train his daughters into world-class wrestlers.
Meanwhile, Salman is currently busy shooting for Vamshi Paidipally’s SVC63 alongside Nayanthara. The makers are yet to officially announce the title. It is all set to release on Eid 2027. On the other hand, Aamir has the sequel to 3 Idiots, which he recently confirmed. If reports are to be believed, the superstar has also shown interest in Ashneer Grover’s biopic, which is also expected to star Shraddha Kapoor and be helmed by her beau, Rahul Mody. However, it is not officially announced yet.
