Thalavara Hits OTT: When And Where To Stream Arjun Ashokan’s Thriller

After‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ two months of its theatrical run, Arjun Ashokan’s heartfelt Malayalam drama Thalavara is finally available on OTT. The emotionally moving drama that was praised both by the critics and

the audiences made its debut on Amazon Prime Video on October 29.

Thalavara was not successful at the box office, even though it got positive reviews. The film had only a short box office success, which was mostly caused by a strong rivalry with Kalyani Priyadarshan’s superhero movie Lokah, which was gaining more and more popularity in the theaters. However, with the film’s release on OTT, it is getting a second wind and a larger audience.

Presented by Akhil Anil Kumar and producer Mahesh Narayanan, Thalavara is a touching and uplifting film about the power of one’s own voice and the will to survive. The plot is centered on Jyothish, a character of Arjun Ashokan, a young man who suffers from vitiligo and aspires to be an actor, in spite of the fact that he gets social stigmatisation and is insecure within himself.

Through Jyothish’s personal story, the movie delves into themes of acceptance, hope and depicts how the character faces discrimination, but he is determined to follow his dreams.

Story Infused With Themes Of Bravery, Dreams And Resolve

Thalavara is a film that shows how Jyothish’s hardships and victories mirrored the experiences of people who, like him, were judged based on their looks. The movie urges its audience to accept the flaws and find the strength that comes from within.

Among the supporting actors are Revathy Sarma, Sarath Sabha, Shebin Benson, Ashokan, Sohan Seenulal, Sam Mohan, Abhirami Radhakrishnan and Devadarshini, who are in the middle of the story, and each of them plays a vital role in the emotional narrative.
